With magazines such as Glamour and Glamorous Magazine poised to challenge traditional beauty norms, it’s time to change the face of beauty, says fashion journalist and women’s fashion editor-in-chief of Glamorously magazine, Marie-France Boulanger.
“We’ve come a long way since the 1990s,” says Boulangers.
“Beauty is no longer about being a nice person.
Beauty is about being someone who is able to do something extraordinary.”

With magazines like Glamours and Woman’s Fashion Magazine poised in the midst of a transition, Bouliers believes the future of beauty is now.
“I believe that magazines like Women’s Fashion and Glimpse are the future,” says the fashion editor.
“These magazines are the magazines that are really going to change what it means to be a beautiful person.”
Boulier explains that magazines have been creating a culture of beauty for years.
“In the beginning of the last century, magazines like Woman’s Illustrated, the French fashion magazines, had their very first issue,” she says.
“And the first issue of Woman’s Style Magazine had the first cover that I’ve ever seen.”
Today, the magazine covers beauty, lifestyle and fashion topics in a variety of formats.
“Women’s Style magazine is the magazine that covers the beauty industry, but we are the magazine with the biggest reach,” says Marie-Fauci Boulager.
“That’s the beauty.
That’s the magazine where we can really touch people.”
Bichard says the beauty magazines of today are a great way to reach women, and a great place to start if you’re a woman interested in fashion and beauty.
“The beauty magazines are a very beautiful thing, and they’re a great starting point,” she said.

“When we first started working with the Canadian Media Association and talking to them about how to make this happen, it was very much about bringing the media together and making sure that it’s a place that everyone is welcome.”
