With the first issue of the magazine out of the way, the editors at American Women’s magazine have a new book to share.
The title is Out of Print.
American Women is an anthology of more than 100 issues of women’s and girls’ magazines, edited by a group of female journalists who specialize in publishing quality, diverse, high-quality material.
It’s one of the first of its kind in the world.
It’s been more than 20 years since American Women launched its first issue, and in those 20 years the magazine has published more than 50 issues.
“We have a lot of women that work at this company and a lot more that have been writing for American Women,” said author Sarah Kwan, who has written for American Woman for a decade.
“So, when we were doing our initial research, we really wanted to make sure that we had a comprehensive, diverse and beautiful selection.”
The editors have found that their readership is still predominantly male, but they are now working to bring the women in their audience closer together.
Kwan said they want to be able to create more diverse editions of the magazines so that women are not excluded from the discussion.
“There are a lot people who have been in this business for 30 years and it’s just the last 10 years that has really changed the landscape for this industry,” Kwan added.
“I think there’s a lot that we’re missing right now, and it needs to be on our radar and on our bookshelf, because it’s so important to this industry and the industry needs it,” Kwon said.
Kwan and her co-authors will be adding the first volume of the book to the online bookstore on Tuesday, June 27.
The new issue is also available in print on the company’s website.
