Women’s magazine covers and posters have been around since the early 1900s, but women’s publications have traditionally been the least visible and most marginalized of all media.
As the first wave of women became mainstream, however, women’s representation in the media began to grow exponentially.
The Women’s History Month, which was launched in 2011, aims to reflect on the history of women and their contributions to the arts, culture, and society.
The magazine, which launched in the United States in 2013, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

2019 Women in Photography – This series of four photographic essays celebrates the achievements of photographers of all kinds, including African-American, Native American, and Latino women.
2019 – American Museum of Natural History – A collection of essays on the natural history of the United State, the United Kingdom, and other countries, by Amy O’Leary, Harper Collins, March 2019 – A year-long exhibition of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, a major hub for the American African American community.
2019 American Women in Film, Television and Performance – The National Museum for the Arts hosts a wide-ranging array of programs for the visually impaired, including a series of workshops on disability.
2019 Woman’s Year, the year of women, by Barbara Hall, HarperCards, May 2019 – An exhibition of work by women artists, historians, and thinkers, celebrating the years of the 20th century, including the work of Gloria Steinem, Angela Davis, Rosa Parks, and others.
2019 Man-Made Objects, the Year of Women – A celebration of the impact of women on the world, with stories from the people who have created them, from artists to designers.
2019 National Women’s Week – National Women�s Day is a celebration of women.
The first national holiday to be held on May 9, the day women were allowed to vote, is a time for women to celebrate their achievements, share their stories, and learn about how the work they do affects our society.
2019 People’s History Magazine Cover: 2019 – Woman’s History month covers 2019 Women and Women’s Stories, by Alice Kranz, HarperBusiness, March 2020 – In the first installment of a three-part series exploring women and women�s lives, Kranzz traces the story of Harriet Tubman, an enslaved slave who escaped from the Virginia Free State and helped lead a rebellion against the British in 1832.
She also explores the legacy of Harriet�s family.
2019 The New Women�S Magazine – The women who are shaping the future of women�fomenting change in all walks of life, including race, gender, sexuality, and class, by Angela Davis & Co., HarperCollins Publishers, January 2020 – Davis, who became the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, was one of the first to speak out about violence against women.
She has also been the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Congressional Gold Medal, the Presidential Gold Medal and other honors. 2019 Men�s Magazine – Celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the Women��s International League for Peace and Freedom, which has grown to over 100,000 members, this is the first issue of the magazine to feature a woman, in the lead-up to the 2023 FIFA Women�fêted World Cup in Canada.
2019 Black History Month – This is the year that all people of color, from African Americans to Native Americans, from the LGBTQ community to Native Hawaiians, come together to celebrate the contributions of the black and brown communities.
The New York City-based Women�Fêted Women�Magazine, which began in 2005, is dedicated in part to the contributions women have made to our country, its institutions, and our society, including women who have been part of the founding families, and women who played a role in building the country.
